Waukee High School Hosts Star Struck: Show Choir Invitational and Jazz Choir Festival
On January 13 and 14, Waukee High School hosts Star struck, the 16th annual show choir competition and jazz choir festival. This year, 25 show choirs and 22 jazz choirs from around the state will attend the event. Performances take place in the Waukee Fieldhouse and the Waukee Auditorium. The middle school division begins on Friday, January 13, and the high school division starts on Saturday, January 14.
Before the competition begins, there will be a Waukee Parade of Show Choirs on Thursday, January 12, where all five Waukee Show Choirs perform in the Waukee Fieldhouse. This is an excellent chance for parents and students to see the fantastic things happening in the Waukee Vocal Music Department. Admission to this event is free, and all are welcome to attend! The schedule is listed below:
- 6:30- Spark (7th Grade)
- 6:45- En Fuego (8th Grade)
- 7:00- Inferno (9th Grade)

After Waukee High School wraps up this event, we can look forward to seeing more talent at the Northwest High School show choir and jazz choir competition. Northwest Nightfall is scheduled for February 3-4.
