Kevin Bauman Takes Over Waukee Boys Tennis Program
Kevin Bauman is taking over the Waukee High School Boys Tennis program, starting with the 2022 season.
“Waukee has a great team atmosphere and community support, so it’s exciting for my family and me to be a part of it,” says Bauman.
Bauman is an USPTA and PTR certified tennis professional and is a former Division I tennis player at Eastern Illinois University and was named team captain in two of those years.
“I’ve coached hundreds of players of all levels throughout the years and some have gone on to play in college and receive college scholarships,” says Bauman. “Tennis is a passion of mine, and I am ready to put my experience to work in Waukee.”
Bauman understands the Waukee Tennis program will look a little different next year as the district splits, but says he’s ready for the challenge.
“This will be an opportunity to develop more tennis players that lead to better athletes,” he adds. “It’s a fresh start for Waukee, and we are ready to take on the challenge.”
Coach Bauman says he’s eager to get started with the Warriors and will have high expectations for his first year at the helm.
“We will be prepared for whatever adversity is thrown our way,” says Bauman. “We will stand strong as a family and support our teammates no matter what.”
Bauman will be leading several tennis camps this summer. If you’d like to learn more, click here.
