The Waukee Warrior Bowling program has established a strong presence in the Central Iowa Metro League (CIML). Both the girls and boys squads have experienced success since girls bowling was sanctioned in 2007 and boys bowling in 2009.
The goal of the Warrior bowling program is to provide an environment where students feel safe and comfortable to be themselves. The coaches in the program value all athletes and emphasize competing to their fullest potential. Competitive opportunities exist for all athletes grade 9-12 regardless of ability or prior bowling experience. Both teams practice and host home meets at Warrior Lanes in Waukee.
Over the past 12 seasons, the boys and girls teams have both won multiple conference championships and state qualifying meet titles. The girls have qualified for the state tournament five times, highlighted by the 2019 state team championship. The boys have qualified for state four times, their top finish was fifth in 2013. Jonah Starmer won the Warrior’s first individual state championship in bowling in 2014.
